Spring is now hopefully upon us! The seasons change and it's here at these turning points of the year we can be at our most vulnerable, winter to spring/summer and summer to autumn/winter. Our energy systems recognise there is something different going on, climate, food, light and warmth all shift, and yet we expect our bodies to continue in the same way regardless. We've had a long, wet and cold winter here in the UK, and I don't know about you, but I am ready for some serious light and sunshine!
The more I learn about the body and the critical importance of regular detoxification, the more I also learn that detoxifying is just one aspect, but what happens when those toxins begins to leave the cells and the organs, and move into the blood, and the lymph? We can feel terrible! We may experience skin rashes, nausea, headaches, fatigue and more as the body is flooding with the 'die-off' toxic load from our intentional clearing, and it's then we really need to support the body in cleaning it all out, so what can you do? Lymphatic drainage massage is a powerfully subtle technique I recommend in helping the lymph clear the toxins by directing them to the major lymph nodes where they may then leave the body via the sweat glands, skin or other elimination routes. Adding in heat, e.g., sauna, sweat lodge, steaming, or exercise which generates a sweat will then allow the body to create further exit routes. Then there is dry skin brushing, and the amazing benefits of colonic irrigation or regular enemas which you can add specific herbs or tonics to, to further assist in cleansing, e.g., garlic, aloe, colloidal silver, medical grade coffee, wheatgrass etc.
