The body is an optimum vessel of communication! It contains a record of everything we have experienced since birth, every memory (even those the personality/mind has blocked out), every feeling, every belief we hold is locked in there; the most vast library we could ever imagine. Some parts of our story and our ancestry are also coded into our DNA, and have become so deeply ingrained in our ancestral lines that some of these beliefs we carry, do not even belong to us!
My life work has been primarily invested in the exploration of this relationship between the body and wellbeing, balance and harmony, and to that end I have walked the path of the 'Wounded Healer', seemingly calling in all that I needed to learn to truly make this 'medicine' mine. It's not been an easy road to walk, but it has been deep, rich and ultimately extremely rewarding.
In order to transform these stories we hold, at some point in our lives, we must become the Witness of our dis-ease, rather than the Victim. We begin to ask what could I change? Is it possible that I could respond to this differently? And how can I heal? It is at this point, what I will call the 'trigger point', healing is possible.
Ancient systems have known for thousands of years what we in the west tend to ignore in our pushing, driven and consumerist modern lifestyles. The Sanskrit Vedas, Chinese Medicine, The Medicine Wheel and many tribal cultures all over the world understand the relationship between the mind, body and spirit with health and wellbeing. We on the other hand tend to ignore or belittle those ways of understanding, and yet they are key to our overall health.
Now that science is starting to map the interconnected relationships of health , the etheric and auric bodies and the invisible energies of the world around us, via things like quantum mechanics and energy medicine research, new possibilities of understanding arise for those of us less quick to catch on!
In my work, I am concerned with these subtle energetics. I believe that for many people the root of disease can be tracked to a set of sustained traumas or thought patterns that exacerbate pain in the physical, mental and/or emotional bodies. In our sessions we look at the origins of these energies, and how they have created imbalance in the naturally self righting mechanisms of the physical body. The body is an ingenious piece of mastery! It will do whatever it can when it detects invaders, or imbalance to correct that as fast as possible. This takes energy, and whilst our energy is being used in that way, a certain law of nature means that something else is being depleted whilst our immune system deploys it's support networks to correct dysfunction. So how do we put that right and bring it back into balance? With deep rest, balancing nutrition, mindfulness practice and self awareness, and by healing the root causes so that the issue does not simply grow or return every time it is triggered.
In my one to one bodywork sessions, I combine shamanic scanning (connecting to the theta mind state to read the energy field of the body) with various modalities which create and support the opportunity to examine more closely how our personal and ancestral histories are affecting our health, our beliefs and our inner standing of our potential (or limitations).
We can transform so much by bringing our attention and awareness to that root point of dis-ease, rather than simply medicating the pain away. Modern medicine without doubt has a great deal to offer us, but what of the deeper meanings behind our illness or suffering; what then?
Thankfully, GP's and people invested in medicine as a true route to healing, are starting to support the idea that to really create health, we need to look beyond suppressing 'symptoms' and move to supporting and healing 'cause'. After a recent TED talk I was fortunate enough to see, given by Dr Rangan Chatterjee, a current practicing GP, I am encouraged that change is possible even in the midst of habitual over medication. You can read more from Dr Chaterjee here.
If you would like to book a session with me, be prepared to be open to change. Be prepared to be open to healing at core levels. Be prepared to be challenged, but more importantly, be prepared to be supported through your journey into awakening and re-creating your personal, sustainable health and wellness. This is a deep de-armouring and healing process, and the purpose of doing this work is to create freedom from pain, suffering, illness and dis-ease. We do this work for ourselves, for the generations to come and for those who have gone before us who couldn't make it. In gratitude, love and the spirit of true healing.
CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
